Using YouTube to convert your video file
Most video files seamlessly work on EclatView books, however, there are some rare scenarios that your video cannot be played on your video book. A 4K video file, a video with a high frame rate or a high bit rate will usually cause videos to not play on your device. However, you can use the power of YouTube to adapt the video file that works 99.9%* of the time. Here are simple steps on how you do it:
1. Upload your video to your YouTube account. You do not have to make your video public. Simply publish your video as unlisted. The uploaded video may take a few minutes to process once uploaded (longer videos can take much longer to process).
2. Copy your video link. You can do this by pressing “share” under the video and copying the URL that is presented there.
3. Go to a YouTube downloader website. We recommend using https://yt1s.com/
4. Paste your video into the search field and press “CONVERT.” In the background, that website will fetch the video and find all the different video files that YouTube auto created.
5. Once the “converting” is done, you will be presented with a few dropdown options. Select “1080p” and click on “Get link.” 6. The video file is now ready to download. Simply press download and upload the new video file onto EclatView books. Just a little tip though, these websites show a lot of ads, so don’t click on any ads. If you are still not able to get your video to play on EclatView books, reach out to our support team and we will help you prepare your video file. * High Frame Rate videos will not convert properly even by using the YouTube method.
